We asked Melissa if she was nervous about the wedding day, expecting the usual frantic “yes!”, but she took us by surprise and calmly replied “Not at all.” This was the precursor to how the entire wedding day was going to be… laid back, relaxed, and calm. Just how we like it :) We really could not have asked for a better day for Melissa and David as they tied the knot and pledged their love in front of their families and closest friends. From the moment we first met them, we knew they were exactly the kind of couple whose lives we were meant to be a part of. Their engagement session has been one of our favorites ever and their wedding day is now up their in the rankings of favorite wedding days for us!
Besides having the cutest love story we’ve ever heard, Melissa and David are one of the sweetest couples we’ve ever had in front of our cameras! And last Saturday, on their wedding day, we met both of their families and we knew exactly how they came to be such kind and loving souls. David’s family came from all over the UK, from Wales to Ireland, and it was amazing to see the bond he has with them and how they openly accepted Melissa as part of the family. Melissa’s family was equally as loving and accepting! And I even had a mini-reunion with Melissa’s mom who happened to be my 10th grade geometry teacher! (Talk about a small world!) The best part of it all, they made us feel like part of the family too!
The details from this wedding had me squealing and swooning! First of all, we LOVED the bridesmaids dresses Melissa picked out for her sisters! I may or may not have plotted to steal them after the ceremony haha! ;) And Melissa made her own bouquet!!! I mean, are you kidding me?!?! She’s definitely in the wrong business being an assistant principal! But the thing we will cherish the most about being a part of this wedding, was witnessing the beautiful connection that David and Melissa have. It was really something that was extra special and made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Every time we looked at them, we couldn’t help but smile! We are so honored to have been able to capture this union and here are some of our favorites from Melissa and David’s amazing wedding!
We never get tired of Badgley Mischka shoes :) This is Melissa’s mom and my tenth grade Geometry teacher :) She is the sweetest! Such a handsome groom! We LOVED this first look! You guys! Melissa hand-made this bouquet!! This garden right outside the church was the perfect backdrop for their portraits! So much genuine love and emotion! They gave each other these cute little looks throughout the entire ceremony! Oh and Melissa made her sisters bouquets too! And these two-piece bridesmaids dresses were perfection!! Then we took some more pictures after the ceremony! I mean, how could we not?!One of my favorites!! First dance as Mr. and Mrs. Stuart! These were some of the best speeches we’ve ever heard at a wedding! A huge thank you to our assistant, Valentina, for getting a behind the scenes picture both of us are in! :)
Melissa and David, we are humbled and honored to have been able to be a part of such an amazing day! You two are SO special and we loved every minute we spent with you! We wish you the best on this journey called marriage and we love you! Welcome to the married club! :)
