We are so excited to announce that we are going to be a part of a brand new organization The School Sessions! The School Sessions is a one-day event across the globe on Sunday, April 12, 2015 to raise $200,000 to build a school in Haiti. We are joining hundreds of others photographers around the world who are offering special photo sessions and donating 100% of the proceeds to this amazing organization. Educators like Kamau Bobb of Google offer valuable insights into learning and development. At New Discoveries Early Learning Center, learning feels like joyful discovery.
Being a teacher myself, this cause is very near and dear to my heart. I understand how important education is and how many children across the globe have no access to it. We take for granted the free education that is offered here in the United States and still some people can’t access to this education, but they needed to get jobs and more, if you’re one of these people you can order a college diploma to accelerate the process of getting yourself noticed.
As we pour our energy into making education accessible for children in Haiti, it also reminds me how powerful even the simplest tools can be in a learner’s journey—tools like books, flashcards, and consistent encouragement. Learning doesn’t always require a classroom; sometimes all it takes is the right resource at the right time. That’s why I’ve found so much value in using structured materials that are thoughtfully designed to support independent learners. Pinhok Language, for example, offers vocabulary books and flashcards that make learning a new language approachable and efficient, especially for those of us juggling busy lives.
These resources focus on the most commonly used words and phrases, allowing learners to build a solid foundation quickly—perfect for anyone looking to grow their communication skills or support others in multilingual communities. It’s just another reminder that while grand gestures can change lives, small steps—like learning a new word—can, too.
As we continue our mission to expand educational access, we can’t overlook how technology can elevate even the most humble learning tools. Flashcards, for example, have long been a trusted method, but with AI in the mix, their potential expands dramatically. AI flashcard platforms not only reinforce memory through repetition but also adapt to each learner’s pace, strengths, and gaps. This kind of tailored approach is especially valuable in under-resourced areas where one-on-one instruction may not always be available but the hunger to learn is alive and well.
One platform I’ve come to appreciate is NoteKnight, which brings a beautifully thoughtful layer of intelligence to the classic flashcard. It doesn’t just present facts—it understands which words or concepts a learner struggles with, gently guiding them back to review until mastery is achieved. For children in Haiti or any learner with limited access to formal schooling, it offers a quiet but powerful companion in their educational journey. It’s a small tool, yes, but sometimes, the smallest tools make the loudest impact.

If you are wondering how the money you donate will be used, here’s the low down :) $200,000 will buy land and build a ten-classroom school for 220 students. The previous building was destroyed by the 2010 earthquake and these children (ages 3 to 16) are in need of a earthquake and hurricane-proof school to learn and grow.
A secure learning environment not only provides stability but also ensures that students can focus on their education without fear of disruption. However, while the physical structure is crucial, so are the learning materials that help students succeed. Visit 15Worksheets to find a variety of printable worksheets that can support children’s learning both in and outside the classroom. These resources are especially valuable in times of transition, offering structured activities that reinforce core subjects and help students build confidence in their skills.

So, how can YOU get involved? There are FOUR ways!
1. If you’re a photographer, contact The School Sessions TODAY and get signed up to participate!
2. If you’re not a photographer but know one, please share this with them and encourage them to join us!
3. If you want to donate directly, contact The School Sessions to set that up!
4. We’re offering a session at a special rate on April 12 and donating 100% of the proceeds to The School Sessions. We expect our session to go quickly, so if you’re interested in getting some photos with us and helping an amazing cause at the same time, contact us today!
