There’s something extra emotional about photographing a wedding when the day is more than just a celebration but a long-awaited reunion. Our first North Carolina wedding at Sweet Magnolia Estate in Cornelius, NC was one we’ll never forget. From the moment we arrived, the entire day felt wrapped in warmth, joy, and the kind of love that makes everyone around it feel something. But what made this wedding truly unforgettable was Carmen and Alex’s story.

Alex serves in the U.S. Navy and is currently stationed overseas in Japan, so this wedding day carried the weight of distance, sacrifice, and anticipation. Watching these two finally come together again after time apart made every hug, every glance, and every laugh feel even more meaningful. You could feel it in every moment! From the way they looked at each other during the ceremony to the way they held onto every second during portraits, this wasn’t just a wedding day, it was a celebration of choosing each other across miles, time zones, and seasons apart.
