There is a wonderful concept forming in the creative community that Vic and I are absolutely in love with! Two photographers, Natalie Franke and Krista Jones, started a movement that has really impacted creatives all over the United States and the world. Community over competition. What does this mean? It means to put aside the competition and actually build a community with other creatives! They even had the idea to do Tuesdays Together, which are once a month gatherings of creatives like photographers, wedding planners, calligraphers, etc. We are SO excited to be a part of the #TuesdaysTogether group here in Miami with our very sweet friend Courtney. She has been named the leader of the Miami area and we couldn’t be happier, she is the best!

So many times, as creative small business owners, we find ourselves feeling a little lonely. There are few people that understand our struggles, hopes, fears, and aspirations. Who better to talk to and vent with, than someone going through the same exact situation as you are? Other like-minded creatives who believe that we are better together than we could be on our own. We have seen the fruits of this in our own lives and in our friendship with Courtney. She is a photographer here in Miami, with the same style, and business mind-set, and guess what? She has become one of our closest confidants and we can talk to her about anything! She is NOT our competition but our friend and the first person we go to!

We are determined to be a part of the movement for #communityovercompetition here in Miami. We want to be a part of something bigger and put aside all the competition that goes on between photographers. We want to be a part of building a community that we can go to talk, laugh and just be there for each other. We are so happy that someone decided to step out and start this movement and we are all for it! And if you’re a creative in another area, go ahead and take initiative! Reach out to others in your area and show love, compassion and put aside the competition.
