House of Refuge Engagement Photos | Stacy + Chris

Last Friday was the craziest of days! Florida constantly misses the memo about what the weather should be like in any particular season. We are in mid-November and the rain has been pouring down on us for the past 2 weeks almost every day. But the forecast for Friday looked great, so we went ahead with our schedule to capture Stacy and Chris’ engagement session. Long story short, as we get closer to our proposed location of the Blowing Rocks Preserve in Jupiter, the rain started pounding down on us with no hope of letting up anytime soon. Because Stacy had spent almost the entire day getting ready for the session, we decided not to cancel and instead drove 45 minutes back to our area and did their photos at House of Refuge Museum.

It was a crazy whirlwind, and we can laugh about it now, but all four of us were a little concerned that after all this planning and time getting ready, we may have to reschedule. Thankfully it was not raining at House of Refuge (Praise Jesus!!!) and we were able to capture their engagement photos! We could not be more grateful for couples like Stacy and Chris who were so cooperative and understanding. There were looming black clouds in the distance and the wind was blowing strong, but they paid it no mind as they snuggled, laughed, and embraced throughout the entire session. We absolutely loved our time with them and we’re excited to share some of our favorites today!

This kind of laughter is our favorite! Guys, those clouds looming in the background were serious but we are SO glad it held off!
And then the sun gave us a tiny peek and we LOVED it! One of our favorites from this session! And we didn’t edit the sky at all, it was literally dark clouds on one side and gorgeous sunshine on the other! house of refuge engagement pictureshouse of refuge engagement photosstuart wedding photographerThis ring belonged to Stacy’s grandmother and the small stones on the side were actual stones from her grandmother’s engagement ring! And they brought their little puppies to the session too! While we only had a little bit of time with their fur babies, we loved it so much!

Stacy and Chris, we are honored that you chose us to capture this amazing season in your lives! We had the best time with you both and we thank you for being so patient and easy-going during your session! We cannot wait for your wedding in March :)
