Kristy’s Favorite Lens

A few weeks ago we wrote a post about what lens should be bought first and gave a few reasons why.  In that blog post we promised to share which lens is our favorite, which is actually different for both of us. But for today we are starting off with me :)

While we love all of our lenses, because we really do, there’s one that stands above the rest and makes my little heart flutter. Kind of like a favorite child ;) Well, my favorite child lens is our 85 mm 1.4. There’s just something so wonderful about this lens and the look it gives. Some people could live without it, as a matter of fact we know a few photographers that have been shooting for years and just invested in an 85. Welcome to the fan club friends!

Nikon 85mm 1.4G

The 85 gives a creamy and dreamy look and has an amazing bokeh (which is the softness and blur behind the subject). It also amazing for those tight shots, which I am particularly fond of and has a great depth of field. Whatever you photograph just pops right out of the background. It’s also great for wide shots and has an amazingly sharp focus. There’s almost no better way to describe it than just pure magic!

I’m going to stop writing now and let you enjoy the wonder and magic of images shot with our 85mm lens!

High school sweethearts turned fiancés and we got to capture the big moment 🫶🏼

These cuties had us smiling so big because their connection is so sweet! Grateful Chris asked us to be a part of such a special moment for him and Ava!

Proposals are definitely a fave around here 💍😍
If you’re looking to put a ring on it, let’s chat some practical tips ⬇️

But first, if you’re watching this and know a guy getting ready to propose, share this with him. And if you’re a girlfriend trying to throw some hints, go ahead and tag him 🤣

Being in South FL as a hot spot for destination proposals, it has us shooting a ton of them and here are some tips for the fellas…

- Make sure you make the proposal about you both and your love! Don’t try to pull out all the stops if you both are more reserved and introverted.

- If you want to truly capture the moment, hire a photographer (preferably one with experience who can help you plan it all out) ! That way you can have beautiful pictures of the big moment to treasure for years to come.

- When you’re getting down on one knee, make sure you stay down for at least 3-5 seconds so your photographer can capture that epic shot.

- Try buying a thinner ring box so you don’t have to figure out how to hide a huge bulky one. And practice opening the ring box (trust us, you don’t want to drop the ring like Vic did 😆)

Did we miss any tips?! Let us know in the comments ⬇️
