More than Pretty Pictures

I’ve been sitting in front of the computer staring at this screen thinking about what to post today, so I guess I’ll start by appreciating how soft my mouse pads are. This confession may be too “real” but it’s the truth, and we strive to always be open and truthful on our blog. We aim to make our blog not just about the pretty pictures we take but about our lives, our goals, our dreams, and even our fears. Recently, we’ve been exploring new tools to enhance our brand, including an ai headshot generator that helps us create professional images for various platforms. We’ve been blogging for quite a while, and we make it a point to share our personal lives. We want all of you to know us, to know Kristy and Vic on a personal level. We want people to meet us in person and say, “We already feel as though we know you!” And the funny thing is that so far it has worked! We meet with new clients or other photographers, and they already know I’m obsessed with teal, they know about our fur baby Peanut, and they know how much we love our jobs!

But the reason I write this post isn’t to tell you how awesome it is to be personal on the blog (which could possible be a future post!) but to share our hearts when it comes to our business. We want Kristy & Vic Photography to be more than just pretty pictures. Of course, we ALWAYS strive to perfect our craft and become better photographers, but more than that, we want to impact peoples lives. We want others to see us and see God reflected not only through our work but through our lives. We want our couples to have an amazing experience with both of us and come out loving their pictures and loving their time with us.  Our goal is always to create an environment of peace and joy whether it be during and engagement session, or the craziness of a wedding day.

Vic and I strive to be more. It’s some pretty high expectations, but we know that with God on our side we can do it. We don’t want to be so focused on our business that our marriage suffers or our friendships suffer. Our focus and what we always pray for is to be a reflection of God, His love, His peace, and His joy. Because at the end of the day, we do not want to go through the pearly gates and when God asks us what we did with the talents He gave us all we answer is “Well, we took pretty pictures”. We want to impact peoples lives, encourage them, lift them up, inspire them, not so we can get the glory or recognition, but so God can!

We write this to encourage anyone reading to strive for more than just a job or a title, but strive to make a difference in people’s lives. Do not let your title, whether it be a job title or any other title, define who you are and how people see you! Vic and I are a work in progress, and we are no where near perfect, but we will continue to press forward to do what we feel God has called us to do, and be so much more than just pretty pictures!

Happy Tuesday friends, make it a great one!
