Last week we took a trip to the Dominican Republic for an entire week. This has been one of the best trips we’ve ever been on and we had so much fun! It’s so great to be able to go somewhere with no service and limited Wifi to really disconnect. The last two times we’ve been to DR, we’ve gone to Punta Cana and stayed at a resort. This time, we opted to visit the city of Santiago, where Vic grew up, Samana and Jarabacoa. But for today we will just be sharing the pictures from Samana!
We took a 3 hour drive through the mountains from Santiago to Samana. When we arrived we couldn’t believe the stunning scenery! It literally took our breath away and these were by far the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen! I don’t know if there will be another place that can top this and be more beautiful. We went with Carlos and Lala, Vic’s cousin and his wife. You may remember them from their gorgeous wedding in Mexico and we had a blast with them both! Enjoy this gorgeousness today! Here’s part 1 of our trip to the Dominican Republic
We stayed in this cute little Villa right off the beach for 3 days Is this even real?!?! GAH!
We were literally the only ones at this beach! It was so amazing! There’s no PhotoShop in this picture people! We were literally the only 4 people there!
This is Playa Coson, which had only a few more people! Such a clown!
The next day we went to Salto de Limon. We drove about 20 minutes from our villa and once we got there we realized we had to go on horseback to the waterfall! As you can tell, I was really excited! We had to go up and down a mountain to get to the waterfall for about half hour on horseback. It was a little scary but SO worth it! Then we had to walk down the mountain a bit for anther 10 minutes. The worst part was coming back up after haha! This is the first waterfall, which is smaller, but just as beautiful! This is Salto de Limon, in all it’s glory! The natives were telling us that it hasn’t rained in a few months so the waterfall is usually much larger. We saw some of the kids that live there jumping so we decided to join them!
As we left, we snapped this picture from the top of the mountain! We LOVED Samana not only because of the breathtaking scenery, but the amazing people we were with! We are definitely going back!
