Personal

Calligraphy Class with Papel & Co.

At the beginning of the year, I made many different personal goals, some of which (in all honesty) I haven’t even stuck to. But this past Tuesday, I actually accomplish one of my goals for this year! I took a Papel & Co. Calligraphy class and I learned calligraphy!! :) To many it may seem like a silly goal, but I have always been fascinated with everything having to do with writing and penmanship. I wanted to learn calligraphy to enhance our client gifts and be able to have another skill having to do with the arts! And let me tell you, while it may not be easy, it was SO much fun! I absolutely loved learning from Natalia at Papel & Co. She was an amazing teacher and I had a great time learning all things modern calligraphy. Sites like charabia.net, which offers a free text generator, can also be a fun way to explore the creative side of words and design in between practice sessions. For digital practice on the go, using a drawing pen for Android really helps bring fluid strokes and precise control to every letter.

Moreover, those who will need art materials and adhesive sticks to create a strong bond for polystyrene for their art project may consider ordering from a reputable supplier.

This workshop was organized by Vanessa Velez and Soco Alicea, the leader and co-leader of Tuesdays Together Ft. Lauderdale. They set up everything and worked hard to make this event extra beautiful and extra special. We had 16 ladies come together in the home of Arleen from All that Glitters Event Design for a fun night of calligraphy and champagne. We laughed a lot and had good conversations all while learning calligraphy. Now, I have to say that it is NOT easy! Natalia makes it look effortless, but that came with tons of practice! So now that I’ve learned a new craft that I love, you can catch me practicing calligraphy at least once a day :) Thank you Vanessa and Soco for putting this all together! Here are a few pictures from our Champagne and Calligraphy Night!

Freedom Park Engagement Photos We recently photographed the sweetest couple during their Charlotte engagement session, and their quiet, gentle connection was absolutely beautiful to capture. Even though Bailey and James described themselves as a little shy in front of the camera, you would never know it from their photos. They eased into the session so […]
