They met in college at the University of Florida through a mutual friend but had lived on the same street their entire lives growing up! After they met and started getting to know each other, they realized that they had been in the same place multiple times throughout their lives but never actually met! They started out as just friends but Dakota kept telling Brittney how much he liked her, all while she kept him in the “friend zone”. It took him ignoring her for a bit for her to realize that she actually liked him and didn’t want then to remain just friends. Fast forward almost 6 years and this past spring before “the Rona” hit, he asked her to marry him on a trip to the Keys! She was totally surprised and he even managed to surprise her with her entire family joining them on that trip!
Last week we got the chance to get this sweet couple in front of the camera for their engagement session! We rescheduled their session from the previous week due to weather (because Florida in the summer!) but this past Friday was perfect! Yes, it was hot and a bit humid but it didn’t rain and the sun even peeked through and gave us the glow Brittney wanted so much in their photos! Brittney and Dakota killed it with each and every pose and made our jobs easy and fun. There was lots of joy, love, and laughter throughout this session! We loved getting to know these two better that afternoon and now we’re even more stoked for their wedding next year!
