Sanibel Island Wedding Photos | Gretchen + James

The day before Gretchen and James tied the knot we met with them for a mini engagement session at the Sundial Resort. As soon as we started their engagement session, we knew we were in for an amazing wedding day the very next day. And just as we thought, their wedding on Saturday was absolutely amazing and perfect in every way! From the moment we walked into the room where Gretchen was getting ready, there was such a peace and tranquility. Gretchen was more than ready to marry James and as we got closer to the time of the first look the excitement kept building. They had the sweetest first look and ceremony and danced the night away during their reception with 40 of their closest family and friends!

Gretchen and James live in New York and originally were planning on getting married in Miami. But with the Zika virus hitting the heart of Miami a few months back, they decided on another spot in Florida. Through their brother-in-law, they heard about Sanibel and found the Sundial Resort and boy are we glad they did because this place is gorgeous! We loved the fact that they had family and friends from all over the US come and spend the day with them.

It was our first time shooting at the Sundial Resort in Sanibel Island and we loved this place so much! Working together with Tiffany as the event coordinator, Floral Artistry of Sanibel doing the florals, and the amazing Brett Foreman Band was such a great experience. We had so much fun throughout this wedding day and cannot thank Gretchen and James enough for choosing us to be a part of their celebration!  Here are some of our favorites from their Sanibel Island wedding!

Absolutely loved the pop of yellow in Gretchen’s bouquet! We could not have asked for a more joyous couple!
These two are amazing together!
There was a huge storm in the distance but thankfully it passed us right by and not one drop fell! These reception details gave us all the heart eyes! First dance as Mr. and Mrs :) This was our very first time shooting a wedding where there was a band and we LOVED it!
We’re so glad we were able to sneak out for some more portraits just before the sun was setting! south seas resort wedding picturesHow could you not love them?!

Gretchen and James, we are completely honored that you two chose us to be a part of such a special day in your lives! You two are some of the sweetest people we’ve ever met and we had the best time with you both. We wish you all the best on this new journey called marriage! Welcome to the married club :)
