Every once in a while we get to photograph a couple who make us feel like family. A couple, like Cristy and Ibrahim, who we feel a connection with and who feel like long lost friends. This past Saturday we had the chance to capture this amazingly sweet couple as they tied the knot in front of their closest family and friends. The fact that this wedding went exactly as planned is practically a miracle and we still can’t believe that it went off without a hitch! You see, on Saturday, there was a cold front coming, and preceding that cold front was rain, lots and lots of rain. The forecast said 100% chance of rain from the Saturday morning all the way until 4 pm, and we had their first look and portraits scheduled for 2 pm. We had umbrellas and 2 separate back-up plans, and then the miracle happened… not one drop fell during the entire time and they were even able to keep their ceremony outside!
Aside from the miracle of no rainfall in our area, this was probably the most fun we’ve ever had at a wedding! Cristy and Ibrahim (who everyone claims look a lot like us, especially Ibrahim and Vic) were having a blast and made sure that we had a great time as well. Even so much as to pull us on the dance floor at the end of the night to join them and their guests dancing (so sad we don’t have pictures of this because we had already put all our gear away)! And don’t even get us started on the Dominican band they had, who played the best Spanish music EVER, and had us itching to put our cameras down and bust a move most of the night.
We laughed throughout this entire wedding but we also cried a little, in the best way. Cristy shared with us that when we got to her hotel room she started to cry out of sheer emotion because she felt secure and at ease when we walked in the room. As soon as she told me this, I of course began to cry. It’s words like those that make our hearts burst and know in our hearts that this is exactly what God called us to do. We cannot even begin to express how much we love this sweet couple and how thrilled we were to be a part of their special day! We have so many favorites from this wedding but we’re excited to be sharing just a few from their recent Club of Knights wedding with you all today!
Oh, these details! This is the same perfume I wore on our wedding day!
And we popped some champagne to celebrate!
Cristy, you are such a STUNNING bride! We love how Ibrahim decided not to have a traditional suit! The polka dot shirt and floral print tie were awesome! These reactions are what we live for! We just want to put them in our pockets! And this dress is just to-die for! Love these mixed and matched bridesmaids dresses! And this spot was such a gem! So much JOY! One of our favorites :)
LOVE this space at the Club of Knights! Our cheeks literally hurt from how much we smiled throughout this wedding!
As it sprinkled outside we had to capture one last kissing shot in front of all these strings of light!
Cristy and Ibrahim, we cannot say enough how much we love you guys and what an amazing time we had photographing your wedding. You both have such a special place in our hearts and we wish you nothing but the absolute best on this journey as husband and wife! Welcome to the married club :)
