As promised, we are sharing the second part of our trip to the Dominican Republic! Santiago is the city that Vic and his cousin grew up in. We stayed there for 4 days and were able to visit many different places within the city. We ate SO much food and laughed so hard with the best people! We visited Camp David which is a mountain top where you can see the entire city of Santiago. After we got back from Samana, we went to Jarabacoa, a small town in the mountains right outside the city. We visited the river there and ate some of the best ribs ever! Right before we left home, we drove to the capital, Santo Domingo for a day of sight seeing and of course some more eating. I’m sure that Vic and I came back about 10 pounds heavier from all the yummy food we ate!
It was so great to disconnect, have fun and be with people that we love. Of course, being the foodies that we are, we ate all day and had some of the best food ever on this trip! Enjoy the pictures from our time in Santiago and Samana!
We absolutely LOVE traveling with these two! SO many laughs!!! This is Jarabacoa, well a part of it anyways. This water was so cold but it felt amazing considering it was very hot! What a clown!
Some of the kids that live by this area come to the river and jump from the rocks and go tubing. Well, they were in enough to lend us their tub so we could go down the river too! Now to the capital, Santo Domingo. We visited an area called Zona Colonial, which is the historic area of this city. This is our friend Candido and his wife Pamela! Can you tell how excited I was to be there?!? Haha! This is the final resting place for all the major historical figures in the Dominican Republic
We said in the previous post that this was one of the most amazing trips ever and it was true! We has such an amazing time exploring parts of the country and we did it in the best company possible!
Happy Friday friends!
