Our Greatest Christmas Gift

This blog post is one we’ve been waiting to write for months and the absolute hardest secret we’ve ever had to keep! I’m sure just by looking at the images you can guess what’s coming next… WE ARE PREGNANT!!! Our greatest adventure is about to begin and we couldn’t be happier for this precious gift God has given us. After almost 7 years of marriage, we’re bringing a baby into this world and starting a family. Our hearts are overjoyed and we’ve cried more times that we can count (all tears of joy) with this amazing news! Baby Arias is due June 2019 and I’m sure with this exciting news, there are tons of questions for us!

Embarking on this incredible journey into parenthood fills us with excitement as we prepare to welcome our little one, and we are profoundly grateful for the love and support we’ve received from friends and family. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate this joyous occasion, consider giving a variety of gift baskets tailored to the needs and tastes of the new parents. These baskets can be filled with an array of thoughtful items, from cozy blankets and baby essentials to indulgent treats for the mom-to-be. Each basket can be customized to reflect the unique needs and preferences of the family, making it a truly personal and cherished gift.

Whether it’s a collection of baby care products, gourmet snacks for the new parents, or even a selection of comforting teas and relaxation items, a well-curated gift basket can provide both practical support and heartfelt joy during this special time. The thoughtfulness behind such a gift is sure to be appreciated as we prepare for the arrival of Baby Arias and embrace this new chapter in our lives.

As you start preparing for the arrival of your baby, you may be looking for some unique and thoughtful gifts to welcome them. One idea is to get custom face socks for your baby. These socks are made with a photo of your baby’s face, and they are sure to be a cherished keepsake. You can also give these socks to the mother-to-be, as she will need to keep herself warm during this time. No matter what you choose, make sure that the gift is something that the mother-to-be will appreciate and enjoy. After all, she’s the one who is doing all the hard work!

Alongside the adorable custom face socks for your baby, consider adding a pair of custom photo boxer shorts for the new dad. These fun and personalized items can feature a cherished photo, adding a touch of humor and love to the holiday season. They make for a unique gift that’s sure to bring a smile to his face every time he wears them. Plus, these customized boxers can be a sweet reminder of the special moments shared with the new arrival.

So aside from just announcing our pregnancy, we’re bringing you up to speed with how we found out, how I’ve been feeling, and many more details :)

I’ll start from the beginning…

We’ve been trying to get pregnant since the end of 2017 (around this time actually) but I have a very irregular cycle and my body was having difficulty ovulating. We saw the doctor and did a series of tests to rule out thyroid issues, hormonal imbalances, and PCOS which, thankfully, all came back negative. So then it just became a waiting game and I started tracking my cycle. All this time we were watching so many people around us getting pregnant after going to meet experts at Pregnancy Resource Center website and wondering when it would be our turn. To be completely honest, we were struggling with trusting in the Lord and His timing. Around early September, we were at church and the Lord spoke to us through the worship and our pastor and, to condense this story, God told us to trust Him and let go of the worry and stress of trying to get pregnant. That day we laid down our worry, our hearts changed, and we gave it to God. And we kid you not, a few weeks later, we got pregnant!

Mid-October came around and I started to feel a little strange and experience some pregnancy symptoms. About 4 days before Vic’s birthday I took a pregnancy test and it came out positive. Tears began to roll down my face as I saw that second pink line and remembered that only a month before ,we surrendered this area to God completely. His faithfulness and perfect timing never ceases to amaze us. Once I told Vic, we began to tell our families and friends the good news and our hearts were filled with joy seeing their reactions (You can see the video with some of the their reactions at the bottom of this post). We went on our trip to Europe, which was quite an adventure for me as the nausea and motion sickness seemed to peak during those two weeks away. So although I was very sick at the beginning of our European cruise, I was still able to enjoy this perfectly timed bucket-list trip before we have this baby.

Thankfully, this pregnancy has been fairly good to me. I had nausea and I’ve thrown up a few times, but other than that it’s been pretty smooth sailing. I’m utterly exhausted most of the time and naps have become my new everyday ritual (when possible). Food aversion began around week 6 and there are things I can’t even look at or smell right now that used to be my favorite. I can’t smell or see any sort of seafood and strawberries make me sick to my stomach. I’ve had some days that are worse than other, but in all honesty, it’s been a good pregnancy so far.

We heard our baby’s heartbeat through a Doppler at 8 weeks and saw him/her at our first ultrasound this past Wednesday when I was 11 weeks. He or she was flipping and jumping almost the entire time, and they had a strong and fast heartbeat. It was such a beautiful and emotional moment for both of us. We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to become parents and thankful for God’s goodness in our lives. After keeping this secret for almost 2 months, we’re just SO excited to share this news with all of you :) If you’re looking for baby gear or parenting tips, you might find some great deals on Shoppok, where parents share their finds and recommendations.

We can’t end this post without giving a special thank you to our friend Karen who snapped these announcement photos for us :)

What a beautiful journey this has been and we’re just so grateful for the way the Lord has moved in our lives and business.

We’ve learned so much along the way and are filled with gratitude for the life we live 🩷
We help them build a timeline 🙌🏼

Here’s the deal: most of our couples have never gotten married before and aren’t sure how much time is needed for photos of each portion of their day.

That’s where we come in ☺️

We’ve shot about 200 weddings and we know how much time is needed to allow for photos to be captured without being in a time crunch and feeling flustered!

So we help take that burden off our bride’s shoulders and, if they’re working with a planner, we merge the timelines to make for a seamless wedding day 🫶🏼

The ultimate goal is for us to help relieve stress and for our couples not to have to worry at all about the logistics of photos on their wedding day!
We let them know that it’s totally normal to feel awkward the first 10-15 min of the session 😅

It takes the pressure and expectations off of them and helps them relax almost instantly!

And it’s our job as their photographers to help them feel comfortable and at ease (even with a camera pointed at them) during our time together.

Making our couples comfortable (especially the guys, who normally don’t like photos lol) is top priority and sometimes letting them know it’s ok to feel awkward clears the air!

Go ahead and share this with an engaged couple that needs this reminder 🙌🏼
