Our Home Reveal!!!

After much hard work and anticipation, we’re finally sharing the reveal of some of the interior of our new home and where we bought most of our things! Although we built this house and it’s brand new, there was so much love put into making it our own. Countless hours of cutting wood for shiplap, painting, and decorating have finally come together to make our dream home. We honestly couldn’t be more grateful to God for allowing us to do this together and live the dream of owning our own home. As we gaze out through the windows, admiring the lush landscape outside, we envision cozy evenings under the stars, perhaps adding a charming window canopy to enhance the ambiance. We are ready for the memories we will make, the friends and family we will host, and the love that will be shared within these walls. Work with professional luxury builders eastern suburbs if you are also planning to build a custom home.

We’ve said it before, but building a home, moving, and making it your own is a whirlwind process that’s not for the faint of heart. There were long days and nights where we worked non-stop to customize this house. There were SO many things that went wrong (because it’s really inevitable!) from getting appliances that were damaged, to having to exchange our first couch that had feathers (which I’m allergic to), to having to recut, repaint, and reapply various things around the house. We slept on the floor for almost 2 weeks, stained most of our clothes with paint, and had boxes lying around the house (and we still have a bunch lying in the guest bedrooms) with things to be unpacked. But throughout most of this process, we were filled with gratitude (I don’t say throughout the entire process because there were times that we were just over it! LOL) and overwhelming joy as we went through this all.

This post is going to be a long one because we are sharing the before pictures, some of the behind the scenes of the process, and the final results of most of the house. For now, we’re only sharing images of the main living areas and our master bedroom, but we will be sharing pictures of the other rooms and our office in another post (hopefully soon but we can’t promise anything because they’re still a mess) We’re so thankful for our family and friends that came to help us put this all together and made this whole experience just that much better :)

Without further a due, here are the before, behind the scenes, and after images from our home, including where we got all our furniture like these dining tables Perth and entertainment furniture in Surfside Beach, SC!

A special thank you to our friends Claudia and Elton who not only helped us move but helped us paint too! We’re so grateful for their lives and how God orchestrated our friendship! This is just the first of MANY pictures involving shiplap! First up in the big reveal, our breakfast nook! The sign on the wall is from Magnolia and the table is from Target.
This light fixture is from World Market and the bench was built by hand by Vic with some assistance from me in making the cushion! The pillows are from Homegoods and Target! Now we move on the the before images of the kitchen… And here’s the after :) Our friend Domenic helped us paint the kitchen, Vic put up the shiplap above the cabinets (told you there was going to be a lot of shiplap), and the subway tile underneath last week! The clock on the wall is from IKEA. The tiles are from Emperor Marble. These containers are so stinking cute and they’re from West ElmWe had a perfectly good faucet but Vic wanted his black faucet (which I was not happy with at first, but I have to say it looks so nice) We found it on Amazon!
You know I HAD to get this sign! It’s from TJMaxx and the decor pieces, as well as the wooden tray are all from there as well! The cross-back barstools are our favorite and they’re from World Market!

Light fixtures have Banda led RGB and we bought these handles on Amazon.

A before of our living room space (even before we closed on the house)! More sanding and cutting shiplap We had my brother come up for 2 days to help us build and install different things around the house Yep, there’s shiplap in almost every room in the house!
Our living room (probably our favorite room in the house!) The built-in consisted of kitchen cabinets screwed into the wall and a slab of wood on top. Both things were bought at Lowes and put together/ stained by Vic! The leather recliner was a miracle find at HomeGoods :) Blankets are from Target Before closing on the house we were so torn about whether or not we wanted a leather couch or a grey fabric couch, so what did we do? We asked the good people of Instagram to help us decide. The overwhelming majority voted for the grey fabric and we loved that we were able to add the leather we wanted in the recliner! Couch is from City Furniture, the rug is from Rugs USA, coffee table and side table are also from HomeGoods.
modern farmhouse Decor and pillows are a mix of Target, HomeGoods, and Kirklands. I always love to get a stylish rug for my room too and there is an incredible UK rugs store that I always use where they always have the most stylish rugs. The before of our dining room…
Again with the shiplap, but here we decided on only half the wall ;) And by the way, that’s not me in this picture, it’s our friend Claudia, who everyone says looks like my sister :)
We love how this space turned out with the half-wall of shiplap! The vase is from West Elm and the lavender stems are from Hobby Lobby. This is the same table we’ve had since we got married from Macy’sThe fiddle fig tree is from World Market, the light fixture is from Wayfair, and the clock is from KirklandsLast but not least, the before image of our master bedroom Finding the studs on the wall for more…Shiplap!!! Another favorite space :) The rug is from Rugs USA and the bed frame is from Wayfair. Lamps are from Target and nightstands are from IKEA (we did add those same handles from the kitchen though). Almost everything else is from HomeGoods including the mirrors, bedding, and ottoman.

What a beautiful journey this has been and we’re just so grateful for the way the Lord has moved in our lives and business.

We’ve learned so much along the way and are filled with gratitude for the life we live 🩷
We help them build a timeline 🙌🏼

Here’s the deal: most of our couples have never gotten married before and aren’t sure how much time is needed for photos of each portion of their day.

That’s where we come in ☺️

We’ve shot about 200 weddings and we know how much time is needed to allow for photos to be captured without being in a time crunch and feeling flustered!

So we help take that burden off our bride’s shoulders and, if they’re working with a planner, we merge the timelines to make for a seamless wedding day 🫶🏼

The ultimate goal is for us to help relieve stress and for our couples not to have to worry at all about the logistics of photos on their wedding day!
We let them know that it’s totally normal to feel awkward the first 10-15 min of the session 😅

It takes the pressure and expectations off of them and helps them relax almost instantly!

And it’s our job as their photographers to help them feel comfortable and at ease (even with a camera pointed at them) during our time together.

Making our couples comfortable (especially the guys, who normally don’t like photos lol) is top priority and sometimes letting them know it’s ok to feel awkward clears the air!

Go ahead and share this with an engaged couple that needs this reminder 🙌🏼
