Their love story is that of a movie with a long story of overseas travel, waiting, and love. Kim and Brennen met 7 years ago through mutual friends and although sparks flew and there was definitely a connection there, Kim had already accepted a job overseas in Japan. She was leaving in 2 months but they decided to go on a few dates and because she was leaving the country, they just let it be. A year later, Brennen connected with her on social and after almost 2 years in Japan she finally returned home. Brennen was the first one to message her and ask her out to dinner within a few days of being back in the states! But it was short lived as Kim then moved to California for a year. They saw each other on and off as she visited home until one day, he told her “I wish you would stay”. Seeing that his feelings were deep, the next time she came home to visit, she decided to surprise him and let him know she was staying. The very next day he took her out on a date and they’ve been inseparable since then.

Brennen proposed to her in February at her parents home during dinner and now they’re getting married this December! Before their big day, we got to shoot their engagement session at one of our favorite spots, Worth Avenue. These two are fun-loving, silly, and love to laugh and be playful and that’s exactly what we got to capture during their session! Originally we were supposed to end their session at the beach but we saw the most beautiful glowy light at the end of the evening and Kim made the decision to stay right where we were. I think it’s safe to say she made the right choice because those are some of our favorites from the entire day!
