San Francisco, California | January 2017

When we first arrived to San Fransisco we were greeted by one of the best possible sights, our dear friends Jen and Ashesh! We met them last year in our small group during the CONNECT Retreat we attended in May. And you know those people you just instantly click with? Well that’s exactly what happened with these two. It was almost as if we became best friends instantly! They opened up their home for us to stay with them for 5 days while attending the Rising Tide Society leader retreat (which we will share more of very soon)! And not only did they open their home to us, but they made it a point to drive us around and show us their beautiful city of San Fransisco. And being the good friends that they are, they also took us to the best food spots all throughout the city!

The two days before the leaders retreat Jen and Ashesh took us to explore the city and went to all the famous landmarks throughout San Francisco like the Golden Gate Bridge and the Painted Ladies. And although it rained, 3 out of the 5 days we were there, and we got stuck in downtown for almost 2 hours due to protestors, we made the best of it! They took us tot he Palace of Fine Arts and we even went to Google headquarters.

At the end of the second day of the retreat, we headed to Bakers Beach with our sweet friend Vanessa and her husband Enuel to do a photo session swap right before the sun set that day. It was one of the most beautiful sights we’ve ever seen and we were in awe of the beauty in that small stretch of sand. But the best part of the entire trip wasn’t all the amazing sights we saw, but the connections we strengthened and the people we spent time with. Spending time with Jen and Ashesh, Vanessa and Enuel, and all the new friends we met during the RTS Leaders Retreat means more to us than anything! Here’s a recap of our trip to the amazing San Fransisco!

These are the same houses you see at the intro of one of my favorite shows ever, Full House! The Palace of Fine Arts is one of the most beautiful places we’ve seen! Then we went for a drive, crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, and went to this amazing lookout point These are our friends Jen and Ashesh! They’re cute, expecting a baby this April, and we love them :) We checked out Google headquarters on Sunday! And I even rode a Google bike! I love doing life with this guy! The second day of the retreat we were able to explore downtown San Fransisco a bit during our lunch break! And then we went to see the beauty that is Baker’s Beach! A HUGE thank you to Vanessa and Enuel for these pictures of us that we love so much! We cannot even express how much Vanessa and Enuel mean to us! We grew close to them during this trip and we are so grateful for this friendship :)I’m so obsessed with these two and how cute they are together! We were freezing but it was SO worth it! And while I wish I could say this was ice, it was actually sea foam. But this Florida girl was still happy! Love this girl SO much!!!

What a beautiful journey this has been and we’re just so grateful for the way the Lord has moved in our lives and business.

We’ve learned so much along the way and are filled with gratitude for the life we live 🩷
We help them build a timeline 🙌🏼

Here’s the deal: most of our couples have never gotten married before and aren’t sure how much time is needed for photos of each portion of their day.

That’s where we come in ☺️

We’ve shot about 200 weddings and we know how much time is needed to allow for photos to be captured without being in a time crunch and feeling flustered!

So we help take that burden off our bride’s shoulders and, if they’re working with a planner, we merge the timelines to make for a seamless wedding day 🫶🏼

The ultimate goal is for us to help relieve stress and for our couples not to have to worry at all about the logistics of photos on their wedding day!
We let them know that it’s totally normal to feel awkward the first 10-15 min of the session 😅

It takes the pressure and expectations off of them and helps them relax almost instantly!

And it’s our job as their photographers to help them feel comfortable and at ease (even with a camera pointed at them) during our time together.

Making our couples comfortable (especially the guys, who normally don’t like photos lol) is top priority and sometimes letting them know it’s ok to feel awkward clears the air!

Go ahead and share this with an engaged couple that needs this reminder 🙌🏼
