What a whirlwind these past few weeks have been for us! We hosted different family members non-stop for 2.5 weeks from Christmas Eve through January 4th and a few days later hopped on a plane and headed to Tennessee! We’ve got 3 engagement sessions and a wedding this week in Miami and it’s safe to say we’re in full swing this Spring season. But before the holidays and travel, we were able to capture the sweetest elopement at one of our favorite locations, Vizcaya! We’ve been waiting to share this elopement with you all for a while but with our crazy schedule we are just now getting around to it.

Lixana and Alonzo went through some hurdles to finally get to this day! Aside from planning an elopement in the middle of a pandemic, we rescheduled their date a few times because of Vizcaya’s openings for photos due to COVID restrictions. Then on their wedding day, their officiant literally ghosted them! She told them she was at the park we were supposed to meet for their ceremony and was no where to be found! And, on top of that, she let her phone die so there was no way to reach her. We can’t make this stuff up!!! We were heartbroken for them but they were such troopers and thankfully found an officiant to marry them later that afternoon. And although we couldn’t capture the ceremony for them, the most important thing was that they were able to get married and we got some stunning portraits for them!

This couple is so sweet and their love is so genuine! We even got some photos with Alonzo’s son (who was a little model!) We loved getting to know them better and being a part of such an important day for them. We’re thrilled to be sharing more favorites with you all today!

Lixana and Alonzo, although the day didn’t go as planned with the hiccup with your original officiant, it was still such a perfect day and we’re glad we got to be a part of it! You two have such a special connection and we truly loved spending the morning with you! We wish you all the best in this wonderful journey of marriage! Welcome to the married club :)
