Wedding Wednesday: Making Time for Bride & Groom Portraits

We recently met with an amazing couple to discuss their big day and the possibility of us being a part of it. We probably talked more about food and places we wanted to eat than anything else hahaha! Vic and I are such fatties! At some point, we stopped discussing all the places the 4 of us were going to eat together and started talking about their big day. Something that came up, as it does almost every time we meet with clients, was the amount of time that should be allowed for bride and groom portraits. Our favorite time of a wedding day is when we get to take the bride and groom aside and shoot their portraits. Here’s why you should allot more time for your portraits on your big day…

1. These are the images you are going to hang on your wall

When you walk into your new home as newlyweds, the walls will be empty and full of potential. The first thing you are going to want to put up are the portraits from your wedding day! These are some of the most important and meaningful pictures you will ever take. The details, ceremony and formals may be nice, but the bride and groom portraits are the best part of the entire day!

2. You will get more photos and more poses

You only get married once! You will want to have a plethora of photos to choose from for your wedding album and the empty walls in your new home. Plus, wedding day portraits are always fun, and trust us, you will not regret taking that extra half hour for pictures with your new spouse!

3. You will be less stressed the rest of the day.

There’s something so special about the time spent with your new spouse. Being alone with them on your wedding day is soothing and makes the rest of your day less stressful. You will definitely want more time alone with your photographers close by to capture these special, intimate moments.
